December 14, 2012

To face the generation of next-pace, we need intelligent students who can explicit their talents without a burden. In order to achieve it, we the ARTHAM helped the Destitute School of Children (informed by Mr. Vinoth Pandian, ARTHAM member) with the gift of education by making them know the basics of English better and also to improve their fluency.

The Destitute School of Children located in Madurai, was started in 1974. It comprises of two teachers and thirty five (sixteen boys and nineteen girls) students at present, ranging from Class 1 – Class 5. Mrs. Jayashree, Headmistress of the School maintains the School with extreme dignity fulfilling the requirements of every single student with utmost care and responsibility. The blossoms of friendship and altruism were found among those students. The teachers make the students gain better knowledge of everything. Instead of learning through books, Madurai Corporation has made it much simpler, by using the card system.

Ragadivya, Karthick and Varshini, the ARTHAM members, went to the school on 14th December 2012 by 10.00 PM. They helped the students with the practice session for the sports meet that was about to be held on 15th December 2012. On 17th, Class 3 and Class 4 students were trained on the basics of English and the easy ways to pronounce the words. On 18th December, the children were taught about the basic manners to be followed and then, they were introduced to the world of words which owns great respect and greetings.

The students were very much involved and excited to learn, throughout the event. They maintained discipline and clean environment. On the final day of the event, they gave a feedback by requesting our ARTHAM members to train them with more and more such sessions.

We, the ARTHAM members are always looking out for a better change..Hope it starts from here..!

Apart from education, the students are involved in sports and other form of activities. They are educated with the values and the ways to lead their life.Mr. Sivabalan, member of ARTHAM came to know about Balar Illam, through Mrs.Mala. He then got through the person in-charge of the home and inquired about the needs of the students in the home. He was informed that the students in the home were in need ofextra coaching for theirbasics in grammar and mathematics. And then it was planned to make over the necessary things.

On 16th September 2k12, we, the ARTHAM, took an initiative of educating the girl students. The ARTHAM members, Kavitha, Meena kumari, Raga divya and Varshiniheaded to the place by around 2.00pm.The students had their quarterly Examination on the next day.
